Few days before. This is the first time i encountered myself with the television for longer time. Am one among that unlucky soul who fall inside the geographical location named CHENNAI. Our television cables carry only few frequencies making sure that all good and useful channels are not in that range. As everybody do i scanned all channels almost 20-30 times, then settled in one...tis a news channel. The program that was running in 'Chak de Hockey'...u can makeout wat all this is about..Yes there were people gathered in a well decorated room with some popular figures in the centre..discussing..arguing...analysing..about Indian Women Hockey...stealing their theme from a movie..
The program was scheduled for one hour in that nearly 25 minutes advertisement...wait...dont go into a conclusion that am shouting that they are making money out of it..NO..NEVER..after all its their business. They must get their bread. But the path they chose to get their bread contain huge responsibilities, great risk...They must know that they carrying a ignited candle in their hand behind them following the whole society in darkness. We can see thing only to those places where they lit the candle, rest of the places still in darkness...i know they too need money to buy candles, but the problem is everytime they lit a candle they expecting a business out of it, money out of it. If they are not getting that, they have no second thought to blow off the light and take back the candle from that place..
Is this is what a media for?? If there is a blast it will be there in their table and air for a month. If there is a flood it will be there in their table and air for couple for weeks....but after that??? who knows?? what happen to the ppl in blast?? in flood?? who cares...
Am damn sure that this program i saw will be in air for a week and they all give hands and voices for a women hockey team, creating a mass belief that hockey players will be famous and they will also get sponsors and support like other sports player...let me see..what gonna happen...will be back after that...[:-)]
